    DCS 3.4.0
    Version 3.4.0 of the DCS made system upgrades on the following components:
    USPOT (Unified SOFIA Proposal and Observation Tool)
    • The SPT phase I required entries such as proposal info, GI info, PDF functions have been migrated into SSPOT.
      • Required fields are indicated with a red * next to the field. The rest of the fields are populated with default values defined in the [SI]-ICDs.
    • The users can validate the proposal before submitting
    • Supports an expanded list of special characters
    • Co-I can download the proposal (including scientific justification PDF) from the server, no need for the PI to email around the .spt file and PDF file anymore.
    • Users can download a previous approved cycle 5 proposals (including scientific justification PDF) and save it as a new proposal for cycle 6
    • SMO scientists can now directly generate special cycle Observing Plans (Calibration, Commissioning etc.) without going to the web site to generate an empty plan first.
    • Other enhancements include the simplification of the download chooser panel, Guide Stars
    • GREAT, HAWC_PLUS and FPI_PLUS AOTs have been updated

    Version 3.0.0 of the DCS updated dcs-core from Linux Debian 6 to Debian 8 and updated CAS (Content Addressable Storage) to work with a new persistent_front storage composed of multiple file systems.
    The changes are strictly in the backend to improve security, scalability, back up and recovery of the dcs-core and archive and should be transparent to the end users.
